CHECK-UP
It is our policy that every pet has the right to a full physical examination before any treatments will be administered. A thorough check-up includes taking weight and temperature, examining the eyes, ears, skin & teeth, and also listening to the heart & lungs. Vaccinating or administering prescription medication to a pet that has pre-existing medical conditions may make them more sick. |

PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
RRAH believes that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". We encourage that all pets are vaccinated and tested for heartworms once a year and take heartworm prevention all year long. For senior pets, an exam is recommended every 6 months and bloodwork every 1-2 years, depending on your pet's health. We also believe that educating clients on different aspects of their pet's health ensures long life and well-being. |

LABORATORY
We offer various diagnostic services in our laboratory. We perform many in-house lab procedures including but not limited to fecal floatations, which detect intestinal parasites, urinalysis & ear & skin cytologies, which look for foreign bacteria and can detect infection. We have also recently added an in-house blood analyzer so that we may quickly perform general blood tests. For more extensive lab testing, we work with a professional laboratory.

DENTISTRY
We are able to perform routine dental cleanings and extractions for your pets. Dental cleaning involves scraping, probing teeth roots, polishing and flouride treatment. Anesthesia is used for the procedure. Dental disease may cause discomfort to your pet and also leads to infection of the kidneys, liver & heart. Dogs, cats, & other pets need their teeth throughout their whole lives, it is not normal for old pets to lose their teeth.
